Harbour House in Kingsbridge offers a full programme of Yoga classes to suit all levels of ability and experience, with 13 friendly and experienced teachers supporting your development from beginner to advanced level.
In three light, airy studios you’ll find classes in Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga, T’ai Chi, Kung Fu, Belly Dancing and Pilates.
The new Spanda Studio, with ground floor access, is ideal for Yoga Workshops and weekend workshops and can accommodate up to 28 Yogis. Two further studios on the first and second floor of Harbour House are also available for hire, each accommodating up to 14 Yogis.
There’s a quiet suite on the top floor dedicated to meditation. You can consult practitioners in a range of holistic therapies, as well as one-to-one counsellors and support groups.
We have a delightful Vegetarian Cafe, with a secluded garden.

Yoga is something that goes beyond just exercises full of awkward routines. The goal of Yoga is the union of mind, spirit and body. Yoga’s origin is in the Hindu philosophy and is used to attain spiritual insight and harmony.
What is yoga? The general system of exercises that are practiced as part of this discipline is also referred to as Yoga. This is what is commonly referred to as Yoga. The word Yoga is derived from Sanskrit. The Sanskrit word “yeung”, means to join, this is the root word for Yoga. A yoke as used on oxen is closely related, but also the same root gives us “join”, “junction”, “junta”, “adjust”, “joust”, and “juxapose” to name a few.
Each and every institution that teaches yoga has its own unique practices and beliefs. There are many institutions of yoga available in the world. But in this article we have listed down the five most common yoga practices that are done in these institutions.
